SO KOKO | Style Corner | Taboka Mazura

Another day, Another slay. Taboka Mazura is this weeks Style Corner.

Taboka Mazura is a Zimbabwean born designer living in the UK under her own namesake luxury brand. Taboka has always expressed her passion for art and design from a very young age throughout school and later going into study Fashion & Marketing in University.

She draws inspiration from architecture, menswear, historical garment patterns and utility clothing to create classic silhouettes for women who love simplicity with a slight edge. Practicality is very important to her during the design process as she wants her consumers to be comfortable in style, because she designs for the busy 'woman-boss' with a distinct minimalist style. Every piece is designed by herself from scratch, so the initial sketch/concept to sourcing materials to pattern cutting and creating that final sample you see photographed.

Taboka's family has always seen her potential and encouraged the vision, Taboka aims to launch her official shop site early 2017. Please see the latest Collection from her SS17, selected pieces available to preorder in January.

Taboka's description of the SS17 collection:

"Inspired by my ethnicity, buildings and city life this collection reflects a modern take on utility/workwear in some pieces e.i the 'utility wrap skirt' and 'white cotton wide Belted wrap shirt' each piece has been carefully designed to illustrate a lifestyle while utilising fabrics that can hold these beautiful shapes".
